Soon after we launched the rebrand for Community Action Marin, we had the opportunity to brand their headquarters in San Rafael. This centralized office in Marin County serves as an access point where people can seek out services, and staff comes in every day to work. It's an essential space with lots of walking traffic and at the moment didn't feel very welcoming. 

The drab, cookie-cutter offices didn't reflect the new bold and exciting brand we had created, and it certainly wasn't inspiring. We needed to create an environment that would excite staff and invite people looking for help and guidance.

Working closely with the CEO at Community Action Marin, we rolled up our sleeves and created a graphic mural showcasing Martin Luther King Jr. and President Lyndon B Johnson, which showcased the non-profit's historical roots as they were born out of the Civil Rights movement. 

We combined their bold icon system pulled from the identity and flexed it across different spaces in their offices with warm images of people that felt a part of the Marin community. As a spin-off from their identity, we created a geometric pattern using playful icons that illustrate their work with their head start program, which gives kids a great start in life and their families peace of mind. 

After a positive response from the first install, we designed a second phase, taking on the reception area and resource center. We focused on pulling in more messaging and graphics since this was a space where people would have more time to absorb what they saw. Displaying images of the community that can be interchanged and having values in multiple languages helped make anyone who came through the door feel welcome and a part of the community. 

These transformed spaces create a hopeful and warm environment that welcomes the people they serve from the bottom floor, up the stairs, and into the waiting area. Elements of the brand are used in creative ways throughout the space to create a memorable, enjoyable office and showcase the strength and diversity of Marin County. It also reinforces their position of being 'in your corner', highlighting them as human services leaders.
