OUR VOLUNTEERING
WE LOVE GETTING OUT & PITCHING IN.
The Griot Theater Company
Griot is a local group made up of ambitious students, teachers, and community advocates right here in Southern Marin. They're on a mission to amplify the culture and voices of Black and brown students through the arts. And it's more important than ever. We're using our branding chops to help them develop an identity, website, and marketing plan to promote their theater.
Marin Humane Advocacy Committee
Marin Humane has played a major role in almost all of California's animal welfare wins in recent decades like banning elephant bullhooks, the trophy hunting of mountain lions, wildlife traps & poisons, the sale of foie gras, and the helping pass Prevent Cruelty California. They're also working on a ban on exotic animals in entertainment and the shady and shameful business of breeding pets for profit. Aimee Kilmer joined the committee in 2020 and is helping to develop a public service campaign to raise awareness about animal shelters.
When Pigs Fly Ranch
Our creative director, Aimee Kilmer, is a founding board member of When Pigs Fly Ranch, an animal sanctuary in Sonoma County that raises awareness about the treatment of farm animals so they can live out their lives in peace. She also lends a hand in their marketing efforts, helping to raise money for the sanctuary's upkeep and raise awareness about the plight of farmed animals.
Sonoma County Animal Rescue
Aimee also volunteers with Sonoma CART, responding to calls for help during fire or flood season. Hundreds of volunteers descend on the Sonoma County Fairgrounds ready to take care of animals evacuated from their homes from all over Napa and Sonoma County. Having grown up with horses, Aimee's all too happy to be there to shovel out the stalls, feed apples to the goats and horses, and clean water bowls for geese and chickens and give as much love to the critters as possible.
ExtraFood
Our Brand Strategist, Adrian Power, learned about ExtraFood through our awesome Marin Community Foundation client. Once we started our four-day week, he wanted to volunteer locally on a Friday. ExtraFood is an amazing local nonprofit. Every day they collect excess fresh food from local grocery stores, restaurants, and shops then donate it to local community organizations. Adrian has collected cookies, fresh produce, and packaged goods and delivered them to various Marin nonprofits. Although it's only an hour or two a week, it's rewarding, centering, and puts many things in perspective. We would encourage anyone to get involved.
